Returning to mexico
My experiences going to Mexico to visit family inspired this poem. The message was for me to explain how visiting family makes everything better, especially seeing your culture more everyday being around that everyday really changes how you think and your feelings. Every time I go I am the happiest ever being with family and being around my culture more than I am at home. I am proud of how I followed the rules and how I repeated everything but in the end it all came together.

Untitled Poem
Another poem breaks up and feeling down about it not knowing how to get over it. My message was not knowing how to get over a relationship that affected you so much in many ways. The last line made it seem like the poem I wanted, not knowing how to get over something like that after all you gave that person. The insta poem is a short very detailed poem that shows a lot in a little bit of writing. It helped me enhance my writing by being bold with the wording and how I explain

The Witness
This story is titled "The Witness," it was something I wrote for my creative writing class, we didn't have to submit them, but I was proud of this one! It's a legal drama that takes place during a witness cross examination, it's pretty much all dialogue with minimum narration, so the story unfolds solely through the characters speaking to one another! I did a lot of research to be able to properly write this story, and make it as realistic as I could, of course, it's still fi

Untitled Poem
I was focusing on having it change from a sunny day to a windy day. I was trying to give the idea that it was a sunny Sunday day. But then it gets ruined by the wind. I am proud of finding different words to have this poem rhyme. This poem showed me that you can fit a lot into a short poem.

To Your Indifference-Free Verse Letter
This poem was the scavenger hunt poem where we looked for random words throughout two different books. The words I found felt very uplifting in a sense, they went together in a way that felt like an encouraging speech, so I leaned into that and decided to connect the elegy into it, sort of like I’m saying if you stay stuck on the path you’re on now it will lead to your downfall, so you have to act. I am particularly proud of how the poem flows together, I think it reminds me

Aurora Borealis: (Journal 28)
I wrote Aurora Borealis inspired by the northern lights for this poem. I just tried to demonstrate the beauty of the colors through imagery. I used enjambment to stretch out the words, because aurora borealis don't move around that much, but the time spent looking at them is long.

Morning Dove
I'm Eliott and I wrote my poetry piece, Mourning Dove for my childhood, the sounds of mourning doves are nostalgic to me. I tried to recreate how childhood felt to me. I used a lot of enjambment to symbolize my childhood being a blur.

The Girl
I'm Eliott, and I wrote this poem because of things that I think of. I tried to make it convey the idea that what is said to someone becomes what they think. I like the last line because it shows that she is the one saying all this after all. I used a lot of repetition because it shows that that is what she's thinking, a lot of “she is that” “she is this”.
