When Songbirds Intertwine

Tempest-tost yet not by rain;
Weary naut yet eerie for gain.
Seraphic flash in youth’s fine eye—
The gentleman’s time she thereby buys.
A bonfire heart beats ignited, yet wonder
Can fawn of mind prevent snare hunger?
The hare does sniffle breaths
Flowing soft at muzzle’s end.
By her breath brush drags
Down and trees do bend.
A soul washing drearily; dreamily
Unto intermediacy of amends
And to dread.
Songbirds intertwine, a melody too rich.
Love too interwoven to not miss a stitch.
A fleck of starless night shivering in the colour,
A flash of eye white and a smile undercover.
Cast a grin to the drenched gutter dog,
Elicit a snarl from the mind’s untamed fog.
A palmful of sunshine and an unrestrained prod,
And watch how frigid passion may come to be thawed,
The man may taste the mirage, yet in time must wonder
Can dampening of mind prevent flight’s hunger?
